    A brief on Lido's buyback Recently Lido issued a proposal to use 10,000 stETH to buy back $LDO. The motive is straightforward: they believe LDO is already oversold relative to ETH and have presented some data. Currently the LDO:ETH ratio is about 0.00016, roughly 63% lower than the two‑year median of 0.00043, while protocol revenue has fallen by only about 20%. In terms of LDO price, it is basically near its historic low. The market cap tells a similar story: it peaked at about $3 billion and is now roughly $300 million. Interestingly, Lido’s business remains consistently stable and simple, generating roughly $50‑60 million per year. After allocating a share to operators, the net amount is about $20‑30 million. From this perspective, the price looks quite cheap. The only question is whether the staking business is on an upward or downward trend. Honestly, pure staking is a declining business as the entry barrier lowers and solo staking is increasingly encouraged. Does Lido have an upside opportunity? Yes—V3 modularizes the staking service, allowing direct catering to institutional demand. Crucially, it can inherit stETH’s liquidity, which is currently Lido’s biggest moat. If institutions need LSD tokens that are tradable on-chain, Lido is a good choice.
